So, I appear to be starting a blog. Actually, I'm starting blog number three, because the first two names I thought of just didn't seem right. I rather liked the second one (The Reluctant Smallholder), because it's oh so true, but it's just one aspect of, y'know, me. And so I'm going with the rather wooly Growing and Learning, which covers just about everything - in the literal sense of growing the veggies, pigs, chickens and trees, and children for that matter; and learning covering home educating; but also me, growing and learning and changing along with them. Anyway, it seemed to fit, and didn't rule anything out, so we'll go with that.

Who am I? Now there's a question. Right now, mostly mummy, to BouncyGirl (nearly 4), ShinyGirl (nearly 3), and BabyBoy (5 months). Home educating, babywearing, cosleeping, breastfeeding, and all that. Also getting to grips with the new(ish - 2 and a bit years now) smallholding, 8 acres of wet welsh hillside, some of which dh has planted with trees, the odd bit given over to three chickens and three pigs and veggie growing when time allows, and a lot hanging around looking like we could do amazing things with it if only we had the time. That bit was all dh's idea. When I can (and you may already have guessed that isn't all that often) I'm learning to knit, and sew, and take photos 'properly'. It all sounds very hippyish and domesticated, doesn't it? And yet I don't *feel* like that's who I am. Who was I? Once upon a time, a software engineer, party girl, fine diner. Where will I end up?
